Derek and Emily’s Mount of Olives wedding was lovely and, as an added bonus, these two have a love story that is one that their grandchildren will love to sit and listen to again and again. Derek knew from the moment he first met Emily that he wanted to marry her and he patiently waited for her to come to the same realization. His patience clearly paid off and she finally figured out that she loves him just as much as he loves her. Through it all, their love grew stronger and deeper until they found themselves surrounded by friends and family for their Mount of Olives wedding where their guests helped them celebrate and send them off on a whole new and exciting journey together.

I was able to meet Derek and Emily a few days before their wedding and realized that they really are such a sweet couple. Emily has a stunning smile and her whole face brightens when she looks at Derek. Their Mount of Olives wedding was absolutely beautiful and I was blown away by the  gorgeous day their amazing friends and family put together for them. The decor was stunning and a family friend did all the florals for them. Derek’s friends flew in from all over the country (and brought their swords ?with them) just to witness these two say “I Do” and celebrate the beginning of their lives together.

And, honestly, there’s something to be said about the power of prayer—even for non-religious folk—because as these people were praying together, both before and during the wedding ceremony, I could feel the change of energy in the room. Not only did their mutual faith solidify their love for one another, but it also spread to the entire room of guests. The one thing that really shone through the entire day was the love that Derek and Emily’s family and friends not only felt for the couple, but also felt for each other. Everyone was warmly hugging everyone else, the smiles were abundant and heartfelt, and the tears of happiness and gratitude flowed everywhere I looked.

All in all, Derek and Emily’s Mount of Olives wedding was pretty picture perfect!
